Scott Johnson opened Applewood Gifts home & garden in McNamara Plaza, Downtown Merced on May 10th, 1997 to offer his friends & customers throughout the central valley a wonderful and unique collection of gifts, home decor items and garden statuary that they could not find elsewhere.

During the 10 1/2 years, Scott was the retail leader in Merced County, being the first to introduce his clients to such wonderful items as Italian Charm Bracelets, Archipelago Botanicals   scented candles, (so fragrant, "you don't have to light them!"), Timeworks Clocks, Peggy Karr fused glass, (all designed and created in the USA), Gracious Goods ceramic kitchen & bath items, hand blown Czechoslovakian humming bird feeders, battery operated candles and much, much more!

  Applewood Gifts remodeled in early 2007, to return back to Scott's original concept of his shop, an eclectic and intimate oasis of creativity, charm and warmth. Scott has been, and always will be a hands-on owner, continuing to greet every guest, and inviting them to discover the most exciting and creative possibilities for their home, garden and gift giving desires.

Applewood Gifts closed it's retail doors in Merced, CA on January 31, 2008.
